Who

Laying the Foundation, Inc., a non-profit company which has trained over 25,000 teachers in Texas, provides the only teacher training program designed specifically for Pre-AP teachers and is aimed at increasing the number of students prepared for Advanced Placement* English, mathematics, and science courses.

What

LTF is offering Year 1 of Middle School Math, Middle School Science, and Middle School and High School English Training for Pre-AP teachers of English, mathematics, and science.

LTF training is hands-on, teacher-to-teacher training.  Certified LTF Trainers provide in-depth training using LTF materials, the latest classroom technologies, laboratory experiments, and online resources.  Created by master classroom teachers, the LTF materials and resources can be used immediately in the classroom to add rigor to the existing curriculum.

LTF is a Training Program. Participating teachers are asked to commit to 12 days of training over a three year period—four, seven and one half-hour training days each academic year.

Participating teachers receive an LTF guide, access to the diagnostic materials and resources available on the LTF website, membership in the new LTF Online Professional Learning Communities, and support from LTF trainers and staff members.  Texas teachers will receive 30-hours of CPE credit for attendance at the institute and will fulfill the annual six-hour Gifted and Talented update.

When

The training will be held over four days; Thursday, March 4th through Friday, March 5th, 2010 and Thursday, March, 11th through Friday, March 12th, 2010. Participants must attend all four days of training to receive a certificate. Classes are from 8:00-4:30 each day. Lunch will be provided.
