Laying the Foundation, Inc., a non-profit company which has trained over 25,000 teachers in Texas, provides the only teacher training program designed specifically for Pre-AP teachers, along with AP teachers, and is aimed at increasing the number of students prepared for Advanced Placement* English, mathematics, and science courses and exams.
What
LTF is offering a four-day Summer Institute for teachers of AP English, mathematics, and science. LTF training is hands-on, teacher-to-teacher training. Trainers, all of whom are current or former AP teachers, will provide in-depth instruction using original materials, the latest classroom technologies, laboratory experiments, and online resources. The materials and resources can be used immediately in the classroom to add rigor to the existing curriculum. The four-day AP Summer Institute provides for modeling of instructional strategies used in successful AP classrooms. The 30-hour course will include print-ready lessons, tips for tutoring and Saturday review sessions, syllabus writing, and activities specifically created to bring rigor and relevance to the AP classroom.
Participating teachers will receive the most recent released AP exam for their course, access to appropriate materials and resources available on the LTF website, and support from LTF trainers and staff members. Texas teachers will receive 30-hours of CPE credit for attendance at the institute and will fulfill the annual six-hour Gifted and Talented update.
When The institute will be held Monday, June 21st through Thursday, June 24th, 2009. Classes will be from 8:00-5:00 each day. Meals will not be provided.

Registration & Tuition
Tuition for the 2010 LTF AP Summer Institute covers one released AP exam booklet, consumable participant materials, and access to online resources for one year. The EARLY tuition fee for the four-day institute is $450. The Deadline for EARLY tuition is June 1, 2009. All registrations received between June 1st and the first day of the institute, June 21st will be charged the standard tuition fee of $475. Payment for the conference may be made by credit card, personal check, school check, or purchase order. Applicants will receive confirmation of registration via email.
